HTC is ready to launch its first top-of-the-line of 2018. It's the HTC U12+ (codenamed Imagine) and that will be the successor to the HTC U11+, considered by many to be one of the best devices of 2017, although it arrived very late in Italy.
The Taiwanese company is trying hard to revive its ambitions in the world of telephony, after a couple of years not easy. Smartphone sales plummeted and part of the mobile division was sold to Google. With the HTC U11+ first and the HTC U12+ later, the Taiwanese company wants to make a comeback in the smartphone world. And the HTC U12+ seems to have all the makings of a very interesting device. The smartphone will feature four cameras (two rear and two front) and a slightly renewed design compared to the previous model.
Technical characteristics HTC U12+
The HTC U12+ will be a device very similar to those presented in recent months by all companies. Screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9, dual rear cameras and top-of-the-line processor.
Aboard the HTC U12+ we will find the Snapdragon 845, supported by 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, depending on the model chosen by users. The screen will be 5.99 inches with WQHD+ resolution (2960×1440 pixels) and aspect ratio of 18:9 (very similar to that present on the HTC U11+). The photographic compartment will see the presence of four cameras, two front and two rear. In the front the two sensors will be 8 Megapixels, while in the rear we will find a 16 Megapixel lens coupled with a 12 Megapixel one. 3420mAh battery. The smartphone will be both water and dust resistant (IP68 certification). On board will be Android Oreo 8.0 with support for Project Treble, the project led by Google to speed up the update of smartphones to new versions of its mobile operating system. Like its predecessor, the HTC U12+ will also feature Edge Sense technology, which allows you to interact with the phone and activate features and tools by simply "squeezing" the edges of the device.

An image posted online shows technical specifications of the HTC U12 that are completely opposite to those reported earlier. It could be the spec sheet of a second model of U12 that will be released along with the U12+ to attract more users. The smartphone mounts the Snapdragon 845 chipset with supporting 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card. The screen of the HTC U12 is expected to be 5.5 inches with an aspect ratio of 18:9. At the back we find a single 12-megapixel sensor with 1.5 focal length and optical image stabilizer. In the front, however, find place two 8 Megapixel photo sensors with optical image stabilizer. The smartphone would also have support for Edge Sense 2.0 functionality, which allows you to activate the phone by "squeezing" it at the sides.
Price and release date HTC U12+
The launch date of the HTC U12+, according to the latest rumors, should be scheduled for the first half of June (or, at the latest, in the second half of the month). The Korean company, in fact, has finally made known the day of the presentation HTC 12+: the appointment is for May 23, although it is not known what is the time, nor the place of the event. The price of the HTC U12+ should be 799 euros.
