After the announcement in Asia, Oppo A16 officially arrives in Italy along with its twin brother A16s: low prices but with interesting content for the segment
It was presented a few weeks ago in Indonesia, but now it's ready to settle in Italy. And it's good news for fans of products that cost little and offer a lot, the arrival in the Bel Paese of Oppo A16, which arrives together with its twin brother Oppo A16s.
The novelty compared to the Indonesian launch is precisely the presence of A16s, a model that had remained outside the Asian market. The reason, on closer inspection, is simple: Oppo A16 and A16s are the same product. They are identical, colors and memory configurations included, with the only differences being found in the price and availability, with the latter costing 10 euros more than the former and will be marketed exclusively through Italian phone operators. For the rest, in the transition from the Indonesian market to the Italian one, Oppo A16 has benefited: the cameras are of a different nature, and the "Italian" ones are more exploitable, and the amount of memory has increased from 3 to 4 GB for RAM and from 32 to 64 GB for storage space. That's good.
Oppo A16 and A16s, technical specifications
Oppo A16 and A16s are two smartphones that don't disdain multimedia at all: on both there is a 6.52-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, a teardrop notch that houses the 8-megapixel selfie camera, and is protected with a Panda Glass.
Orchestrating the user experience is MediaTek's Helio G35, a 12-nanometer manufactured chip with a 2.3 GHz max octa-core CPU, and a 680 MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU; no 5G connectivity though, as the chip integrates a 4G modem
The memories on the Oppo A16 and A16s are LPDDR4X for RAM and eMMC 5.1 for the storage space: in terms of space, as anticipated above, the smartphones offer 4 GB for the first and 64 GB for the second, with the added bonus of the possibility of expanding the space if necessary up to an additional 256 GB through microSD cards.
The rear camera group of Oppo A16 and A16s consists of three cameras: a 13-megapixel sensor has been used for the main one, then a 2-megapixel macro for close-up photos and finally a 2-megapixel depth of field detection one.
In terms of connectivity there are Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB-C, Wi-Fi 5, Dual SIM, 3.5mm audio jack input, USB-C port, while the fingerprint scanner is placed on the side. There is IPX4 certification against water splashes. The operating system is Android 11 with ColorOS 11 customization.
The battery of Oppo A16 and A16s is 5,000 mAh with 10-watt charging and reverse charging. Positive that despite the high capacity Oppo has managed to keep the size of the two to 163.8 mm x 75.6 mm x 8.4 mm and 190 grams of weight.

Oppo A16 and A16s will be available in the two announced colors, Pearl Blue and Crystal Black, "in the coming days" the first and "in the coming weeks" the second, says the company.
Oppo A16 will arrive on Amazon and in the best consumer electronics chains for 179.99 euros, A16s will be exclusive to operators for 189.99 euros.
