Realme 8 will also arrive in Italy, as well as on the European market. The date to mark on the calendar is May, when both the 4G LTE version that 5G (here are the details on the model) will officially debut in the physical and digital shops of the country.
With the two variants of the same smartphone, Realme brings under the spotlight two mid-range models with features of all respect. Rich in details, the devices focus on satisfactory performance throughout the day, thanks to the very large battery and support for fast charging. In particular, with the 5G variant lands in Europe the new chip produced by MediaTek, made following the 7nm production process. All this is enclosed in a shell that favors design elements, such as elegant finishes and particularly attractive made thanks to high-level processing.
Realme 8, technical characteristics
It is the basic version between the two products of the company but not for this less interesting, quite the contrary. Realme 8 has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen and FHD+ resolution, as well as a MediaTek Helio G95 processor. Three RAM/storage combinations are available: 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB.
Powerful is the battery: 5000mAh, with support for 30W rapid Dart. The model with 4G LTE connectivity can count, then, on a four-sensor photo compartment with the main 64MP and f/1.79, an ultra wide-angle 8MP lens and 119° viewing angle, as well as the macro and portrait combination (b/w) with f/2.4. On this device, the sensor is located under the screen while the operating system adopted is realme UI 2.0, based on Android 11.
Realme 8 5G, technical specifications
The model with 5G connectivity and dualSIM comes with a 6.5-inch screen, with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and a display-to-screen ratio of 90.5%, so particularly large. Driving everything, the aforementioned MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor.
The RAM and storage space combinations, however, are two: 4GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB, expandable up to 1TB thanks to the slot dedicated to microSD. Interesting is the possibility to turn part of the ROM into RAM, with an extension of 5GB and 11GB according to the two cuts.
The 5000mAh battery takes advantage of fast charging at 18W thanks to the charger in the box. According to Realme, the device is able to reduce energy expenditure by 30% thanks to Smart 5G Power Saving technology. The operating system is Realme UI 2.0, based on Android 11.
For photos, there is a 16MP AI camera on the front side, while on the back of Realme 8 5G there is a reduced configuration compared to Realme 8 4G LTE, with a 48MP f/1.8 sensor, plus a pair dedicated to portraits (b/w) and macro photos. Five filters are available for night photos. Rounding out the features are a fingerprint reader on the side shell, as well as management systems that optimize the CPU and Smart 5G, which automatically switches to 4G when there's no fast network availability.
Realme 8 4G LTE and 5G, pricing
The Realme 8 4G LTE smartphone will arrive in European stores in May in three colors - Cyber Black, Cyber Blue and Punk Black; prices have not yet been announced but current prices for the Indian market start at around 166 euros for the 4GB/128GB model and go up to around 177 and 188 euros for the 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variants respectively. The Realme 8 5G will also be available in Europe starting in May, but in two different colors, Supersonic Black and Supersonic Blue, with a starting price of 199 euros.
