Redmi K40 official: how it is made and how much it costs

Three top of the range in all respects with a price in China quite a bit lower than its brother Xiaomi Mi 11, this is how the new Redmi K40, K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ are made.

Redmi K40 is official: with the launch in China have been revealed all the doubts about the technical specifications and design of the new line of smartphones signed by the sub-brand of Xiaomi. Affordably priced and with a quality equipment, the new smartphone is preparing to place itself among the most interesting of the lower-middle price range.

Redmi K40 is not, however, the only model of the new series of the Chinese company. In fact, it came along with two other more advanced variants, namely K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ that differ in specifications as well as in price, slightly higher than the basic version. With a design revised and corrected compared to that of the K30 line, starting from the texture chosen for the chassis to the rear camera module, completely moved from the center of the back to the left end, and the punch hole, made on the display and centrally located, this phone has from its many new features to discover outside as well as inside.

Redmi K40, technical characteristics

From the purely technical point of view, Redmi K40 arrives with an updated processor than in the past. This is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 870, associated with different RAM/memory configurations; starting from 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128, 8GB/256GB, up to the remarkable pairing of 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage.

As for the screen, however, the choice for this model has fallen on a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. At the top center, a punch hole dedicated to the camera for selfies, all surrounded by a minimized frame.

To power everything there is then a 4520mAh battery, the same implemented on the other two most advanced models. On the bottom, an advanced amplification system, also present on the upper side and separate from the amplifier used to listen to the interlocutor during calls, Dolby Atmos certified. Connectivity is provided by 5G, along with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 protocol, NFC and GPS. Last but not least, the aspect related to the operating system: to manage everything, we find the MIUI 12 based on Android 11.

Redmi K40, camera features

As anticipated, on the back of the phone - and specifically in the left side - there is a triple module equipped with a 48MP primary sensor, a secondary ultra-wide-angle 8M, with f/2.2 aperture and 119Ā° field of view, and a third with 5MP tele-macro lens. As for selfies, however, on the front side there is a camera with a 20MP sensor.

Redmi K40, price and availability

The smartphone will go on sale in China through Xiaomi's official website and other e-commerce portals while, for the moment, there is no specific information for international marketsĀ and on its prices that, as usual, will be quite a bit higher than the Chinese ones.

Prices in China range from 1999 yuan (about 255 euros) for the 6GB/128GB combination, 2199 yuan (about 288 euros) for 8GB/128GB, 2499 yuan (about 320 euros) for 8GB/256GB and 2699 yuan (about 350 euros) for 12GB/256GB.
