Samsung lets slip a version of the Galaxy Buds app that previews the second generation and a developer draws information about the Galaxy Buds 2.
A careful look in the meanders of Samsung's update servers has yielded a curious developer a full-bodied preview of what will be the Galaxy Buds 2, true wireless earbuds that the company will present alongside Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Watch 4 during the Galaxy Unpacked event in August.
The same move had led to the same result for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro some time ago, so it can be said with a fair amount of certainty that today's previews also give definitive information about the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 (also because the information comes directly from Samsung). The developer has "decompiled" the application for the management of the earphones of the company of Seoul and has recovered from the code really many details, including images depicting the Galaxy Buds 2 in the five colors provided: black, white, purple, green and yellow, with the latter two that are unreleased. Unfortunately, however, it wasn't possible to make full loot: the app didn't contain any photos of the charging case.
New features expected on Galaxy Buds 2
On the feature side, the app for the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 contains a tutorial that guides users to wear the earbuds properly, allows you to individually enable or disable single earbud interaction options, so single double or triple touch, and there will be an option through which to enable active noise cancellation on just one earbud as well, so not necessarily when wearing both.
But the developer went beyond just looking, and "tricked" the app by simulating the connection of a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 and found that there were some other new features. Some of them not good, such as some lacks compared to the Buds Pro: no 360-degree audio, no volume adjustment via touches, it seems you can't even adjust the intensity level of active noise cancellation, but all these absences will have to be confirmed with the final version of the app and especially with earbuds actually connected to the phone.
On the Galaxy Buds 2 technical specs level, the app reports the battery capacity, or rather the batteries: those built into each earbud are 61 mAh, while the charging case contains a 472 mAh one.
In the end
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 seem to be a hybrid between the model they are replacing and the Pro Buds: there are all the functions of the former, some of which have been improved, and even some of the latter, and this suggests that Samsung may present the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 with all the features of the current model "Pro" and other unreleased features.
Thanks to previous rumors we know that the Galaxy Buds 2 will be able to connect to multiple devices at once, and this the current model can not do, and will have a case very similar to the current one.
