After many rumors and postponements, the Friends reunion has arrived and this time there is little left for fans: what are the surprises coming
For years, fans have been asking for the return of the beloved characters on the small screen and now their wish is about to come true. The Friends reunion has become a reality and the six friends of the popular sitcom set in New York have all come together on set, but it's not an additional episode.
Writing a new Friends episode after so many years would not have been easy and for this reunion the format chosen is different. A special "unscripted" in which the actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer tell anecdotes and reveal the background of the TV series along with creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman and executive producer Kevin S. Bright. A special not to be missed entitled The One Where They Get Back Together, whose release date in the U.S. is scheduled for next May 27.
Friends: anticipations and surprises of the reunion
Once again the protagonists of Friends will all be reunited on a set, which will see the return of Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), David Schwimmer (Ross), Courteney Cox (Monica), Matthew Perry (Chandler), Matt LeBlanc (Joey) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe). The first surprise concerns the type of format chosen for the reunion, namely a special "unscripted" entitled The One Where They Get Back Together. Actors, creators and producer will be unscripted and will let themselves go to the river of memories, where fans are assured of laughter.
The second surprise concerns the set of this reunion, revealed by the exclusive photos of People magazine: it will be held in Theatre 24, the historic set of the series, and the set designers have recovered for the occasion the single apartment of Chandler and Joey, the apartment of Monica and Rachel, and can not miss the Central Perk bar, the meeting place of the group of friends with lots of iconic orange sofa.
There will also be no shortage of celebrity guests: from actress Reese Witherspoon, who played Rachel's sister, to guest stars like Lady Gaga, David Beckham and Justin Bieber. And then the cast will remember the highlights of the series, reading a historic script and playing again the quiz that allowed Joey and Chandler to win the apartment in front of the two friends.
Friends: when the special comes out in Italy
After years of waiting and postponement, the official date has finally been set: next May 27 the Friends reunion will arrive on screen for HBO Max. At the moment, however, are not known neither the channel nor the video streaming platform on which it will be broadcast in Italy, let alone the date. According to some rumors, the special may come to air on Sky, despite all episodes of the TV series being available on Netflix.
