The Chinese company will present at Mobile World Congress a new version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. On board will be the Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage
Also Xiaomi will be at Mobile World Congress 2018. And that in itself is already good news. The other good news is that it will present a new device. But it's not the Xiaomi Mi 7 (expected for spring 2018), but the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, updated version of the smartphone released in September last year.
An ad hoc event has not yet been announced, but all rumors coming from the Far East converge on the same fact: the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s will be the protagonist of the event that the Chinese company is organizing at Mobile World Congress 2018. If it will really be so, it will be further proof that Xiaomi has every intention to get to the European market as soon as possible, after opening the first official store in Spain last year and while preparing to open one in Italy as well (in Milan).
But let's get back to talking about the smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s will not be a simple update of the device launched a few months ago. From the renders and rumors coming from Chinese social platforms, the smartphone will have a different design than the previous model, with even more extreme lines. The hardware, however, will be that of a real top of the range.
Technical characteristics Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s
With the arrival of Xiaomi in Europe, the Mi Mix 2s could be an uncomfortable customer for all those companies that are about to present their new top of the range. Especially Samsung that at the Mobile World Congress 2018 will launch the new Galaxy S9. Some images published on Chinese social platforms have revealed both its design and technical features. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is expected to mount a Snapdragon 845 chipset (the first smartphone to do so) with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage in support. The screen is expected to be a Full Screen Display 3.0, a 5.99-inch panel with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and FullHD+ resolution. From the renders coming from China, the smartphone shows an innovative design. The screen occupies the entire front with a small indentation at the top right where the front camera is located. A choice that so far had not made any other company. In the rear will find place a dual 12 megapixel camera. There should be no physical sensor for the fingerprint: according to the latest rumors the Mi Mix 2s will have the sensor for unlocking hidden under the screen. The same solution used on the Vivo X20 Plus UD and presented at CES 2018.
When the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s comes out
The smartphone will be presented during Mobile World Congress 2018, although the date is not yet known. Usually Xiaomi is very quick to market its devices: the Mi Mix 2s is expected to hit the market by mid-March. There is no information yet regarding the price.
