Xioami has announced the 5G version of its latest top-of-the-line Mi Mix 3 smartphone, on board we'll find the Snapdragon 855 processor. Here are all the details
After the official launch of the 4G version, Xioami has also unveiled its Mi Mix 3 with 5G. The model with this new connection technology had already been announced during the China Mobile Partner Conference by Xiaomi and now it's ready to be put on the market.
The new Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 in 5G is equipped with this new connection technology thanks to the use of the latest Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 855. The same chipset that we will also see on Samsung Galaxy S10 +. New also the antenna that we will see on the last top of the range of Xioami that will allow a download speed of 2 gigabits per second. To surf in 5G, the Chinese company's phone takes advantage of a particular modem, also made by Qualcomm, and identified as Snapdragon X50. During the Asian conference both the processor and the modem in 5G were tested and shown to the public for super-fast browsing in fairly heavy websites and for viewing videos on the Net.
Xioami Mi Mix 3 with 5G
The model in 5G will arrive in early 2019 and will be dedicated only to some Asian markets, where this Network connection is already usable. As for example, South Korea. With the exception of the processor and the modem, the device will not be different from its twin Xioami Mi Mix 3 in 4G. So we have 10GB of RAM plus an internal memory that will be 128GB or 256Gb depending on the model we decide to buy. The screen instead is a 6.93-inch AMOLED with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen doesn't feature a notch and the dual front cameras are retractable. Basically, the front sensors are slide-outs like on the Oppo Find X. The battery is 3,200mAh while the operating system installed is Android 9 Pie. Also in the rear of the device we find two cameras, a 12-megapixel main one with f/1.8 focal aperture and a telephoto lens always 12-megapixel with f/2.4 focal aperture.
The difference in 5G connection as well as in the processor will be seen in the price. At the moment, the "basic" version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 costs just under 500 euros while the model with more RAM and storage comes in at just over 700 euros. The price for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 with 5G has not yet been announced, but it can not be ruled out that it will touch 1,000 euros.
