Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 coming on February 14: 18:9 borderless screen

The smartphone will be sold in two versions: one will feature a MediaTek chipset, the other a Qualcomm SoC. To support 3GB of RAM

Xiaomi has launched in India two new smartphones Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro. These are two mid-range devices that go to add something new to Xiaomi's already meaty lineup in this price range. The smartphones feature a 5.99-inch 18:9 screen.

The Redmi Note 5 is very similar in features and design to the Redmi 5 Plus presented earlier this year. The real news is the Redmi Note 5 Pro, a mid-range smartphone but with some premium features. Including facial recognition sensors, 6GB of RAM and a dual rear camera. The devices were unveiled in India and will initially be available only in the Asian country. But it is not excluded that they will make their debut in Italy as well, since Xiaomi is opening the company's first official store in Milan.

The Redmi Note 5 features

At first, the Redmi Note 5 was announced for November 1. But then the presentation was postponed and many thought that Xiaomi had cancelled it, in favor of the Redmi 5 Plus. But this is not the case. The smartphone will be launched on the market and will have the same features as the Redmi 5 Plus. The most interesting aspect of the device is undoubtedly the absence of edges and the 5.99-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and FullHD+ resolution. On board the Redmi Note 5 we will find the Snapdragon 625 with 3/4GB of RAM and at least 32GB of storage.  At the back there is a 12 Megapixel camera. 4000mAh battery.

The features of the Redmi Note 5 Pro

The real surprise of the presentation in India is the Redmi Note 5 Pro, a smartphone that few expected. This is a device that in terms of features and price is really very interesting. On board the phone we find the Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4/6GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal memory (depending on the model you want to choose). The device has a 5.99-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and FullHD+ resolution. Very interesting is the photographic compartment: in the front there is a 20 Megapixel sensor, while in the back there is a dual camera with a 12 Megapixel sensor and a 5 Megapixel one. There is also a fingerprint sensor in the back, but the Redmi Note 5 Pro also has facial recognition to unlock the smartphone. 4000mAh battery.

When will the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 pro be released

The smartphones are available in India only for now. But they will also come to the Chinese market (the previous version was very successful) and could be part of the devices that Xiaomi will bring to Italy when it opens its store in Italy in the coming months.
