After Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, YouTube also launches live video. At the moment, the service is only available for channels with more than 10,000 subscribers
Among the big companies, it was the only one that had not yet launched a service for live video. We're talking about Google, which is ready to make amends by offering a service for live streaming to all YouTube channels with more than ten thousand subscribers.
For the Mountain View company it's a very important step forward: YouTube is one of the most important assets, but in the last period it's suffering the pressure of Facebook and other social platforms. Despite being one of the first three most visited sites in the world with a loyal user base, Google wants to offer a new service that attracts new people. The feature will be released soon, Mountain View promises, but at first it will be available only for YouTubers' channels with more than ten thousand subscribers.
How YouTube live streaming works
Using the new YouTube feature is quite simple. A button will appear within one's profile that will allow the user to start the live video stream. Each YouTubers will be able to decide whether to enable comments and whether to send a notification of the video to their fans. For those who have some experience with Facebook Live and Periscope, there won't be any kind of problem in using YouTube's new service. The streaming video platform has made it known that the feature will initially be available only to YouTubers, but very soon everyone will be given the opportunity to make live videos.
