Apple could delay the release of the iPhone 9 by a few months due to the Coronavirus. The new release is expected in the summer
The iPhone 9 could arrive on the market later than expected or be permanently cancelled for this year (unlikely hypothesis). The news on the subject comes from the Far East, where some Apple suppliers have been delayed orders on some components of the new cheap iPhone, which at first was supposed to be presented on March 31 and, instead, will most likely see the light only in the second quarter of 2020.
What is the cause of these delays? Quite simply, the Coronavirus. The epidemic is affecting the whole world with repercussions in every sector, including the technology and mobile sectors. The first to suffer was the Mobile World Congress 2020, the exhibition dedicated to the world of smartphones that was to be held at the end of February in Barcelona, but was cancelled. Then it was the turn of live device presentations, replaced by live streaming events. And now Apple seems to have decided to postpone its event dedicated to the iPhone 9 and postpone it for at least a couple of months, in the hope that the Covid-19 epidemic will end soon.

It was supposed to be the iPhone for the Easter holidays and instead we will most likely see it only in the summer or more likely in September, at the same time as the iPhone 12. We are talking about the iPhone 9, the low-cost device on which Apple bet a lot to raise the ambitions of the company in the mid-range. And instead the explosion of Coronavirus around the world has forced Apple to postpone the release. There is no official announcement yet, but some suppliers in Asia have confirmed the fact that the Cupertino company has postponed to the second quarter the orders for some hardware components that were to be mounted on the smartphone.
According to the latest rumors, the iPhone 9 should be a very interesting budget smartphone: on board there is the A13 chipset, the same present on the iPhone 11 Pro, along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Very compact size thanks to the 5.4-inch screen and design reminiscent of the iPhone 8, with the presence of the physical TouchID as well. Mono rear camera of 12 megapixels. Body made entirely of aluminum.
Price iPhone 9
One of the most interesting aspects of the iPhone 9 is definitely the price. Although there is no confirmation, many reports written by experienced industry analysts are sure that the smartphone will be launched at a price below $400. Probably in Europe it could arrive at a price between 399 and 449 euros. In this way, the iPhone 9 would immediately become one of the most interesting devices on the market.
