Apple is working on the Apple Watch SE, a budget version of the smartwatch coming in 2021. Here's the price and features
After the iPhone SE, now comes the Apple Watch SE. The Cupertino company is aiming at the mid-range market and is working on the budget smartwatch, which could arrive in 2021 along with the top-of-the-line Apple Watch Series 6 version.
Leaker Komiya explains that Apple's new budget smartwatch could arrive starting in spring 2021. The model could be equipped with the S6 processor and will come with all the major features, including sleep monitoring, pulse oximeter to measure oxygen saturation in the blood and even longer battery life. Jon Prosser, known for his often reliable information about Apple, also confirmed that a more affordable Apple Watch SE is on the way.
Apple Watch SE, what it could look like
According to the few rumors available, the Apple Watch SE could count on the S6 processor and an aluminum strap and haptic feedback embedded in the digital crown. It will also feature the W4 chip for better wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 technology and 16GB of internal storage. However, there are those who speculate that instead of aluminum, Apple could use plastic materials on which it has been experimenting for some time. In addition, it would be thinking about a child mode, which would be well suited to the use of a cheaper device.
Apple Watch SE, the price
To make an estimate of the price of the next Apple Watch SE is not easy, but not even impossible. If we consider that as of today the top-of-the-line Apple Watch Series 5 is sold from 459 euros, and that the Series 3 devices are still working and can cost from 239 euros, the price of the cheap SE version would be in this price range. Also, Apple could save on materials and some sophisticated sensors to offer users a device with an updated processor and newer technical specifications.
