Netflix is experimenting with ads to show between episodes. Here's how to avoid seeing commercials on Netflix
For a while now, Netflix has been inserting small ads between episodes of a TV series, even if they are actually trailers of its original content and not real ads.
As mentioned above, ads on Netflix appear between one episode and another or between one movie and the next and suggest another Netflix show in line with your tastes. They are, therefore, "targeted" advertisements and the maximum duration varies between 15 and 20 seconds. In spite of the extremely limited duration, if you are very busy watching a TV show, having to watch a trailer every time between episodes could be a real nuisance. Luckily, it is possible to stop these ads with a few clicks on our Netflix account. To do this, however, we don't have to use the application but the service's official website, which we can connect to from the browser on both tablets and smartphones or PCs.
How to get rid of ads on Netflix
Once connected to the Netflix website from the browser, we tap the button with three horizontal lines in the upper left corner (on a cell phone) or click on the profile picture in the upper right corner (on a computer). At this point all we have to do is choose the Account item from the menu. Once inside, we locate the item Test Participation and click on it. A new tab will open where we'll find the words Include me in tests and previews, on the right side automatically the blue tick will be ON, to delete the ads we need to move the tick to OFF.
This way we won't see the ads anymore between Netflix episodes. All this unless Netflix in the future moves the ads to the standard experience. Effectively making it impossible to eliminate ads on the service. A real possibility since Netflix recently said it was very satisfied with the ads and the response it got from users. According to the service in fact these trailers between one episode and another are reducing the time people spend in the catalog to choose what to watch. It should be remembered that the trailers are shown in a personalized way, that is, based on what we have already seen on the Netflix application.
