Apple is ready to launch the iPhone SE 2: small 4-inch screen, A10 processor and a price tag of just over 400 euros. The design will be revised
While all the attention is focused on the release of the iPhone 8, Apple is working under the radar to launch other devices at the same time as the new top of the range. We're not talking about the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7s Plus, but rather the iPhone SE 2, the new version of the Apple smartphone launched last year and which features a 4-inch screen.
While the world of cell phones continues on the path of large screens, Apple with the iPhone SE wanted to go against the current. The screen is very small (only four inches, while current standards require a display of at least 5 inches) and design taken directly from the iPhone 5. The success was not what was hoped, but the iPhone SE has nevertheless made happy a small niche of users who do not like to carry around bulky smartphones. In addition, the Cupertino company has equipped the iPhone SE with top-of-the-line hardware, while the price is slightly lower than other Apple smartphones.
With the iPhone SE 2, the U.S. company would like to repropose a very similar recipe: small screen size, top-level hardware and affordable price. To change, most likely, will be the design, which could get closer to that of the iPhone 7.
The characteristics of the iPhone SE 2
Let's start from the most interesting feature of the new iPhone SE 2: the screen. There will be no surprises, Apple will continue with the same philosophy already adopted with the first model: 4-inch display with good brightness in any situation. Turning then to the hardware, the iPhone SE 2 will mount the A10 chipset, already seen on the iPhone 7, supported by at least 2GB of RAM and 32GB or 128GB of internal memory (the versions launched will be two). Finally, as far as the photographic compartment is concerned, the rear camera will probably be 12 Megapixels and the front one 5 Megapixels.
More capacious battery
In comparison to the first model, the iPhone SE 2 will have a more powerful battery, most likely borrowed from the iPhone 7. Separate discussion for the 3.5mm audio jack. It is likely to still be present, although Apple from the iPhone 7 onwards decided to remove it to make room for a larger battery.
As for the design, it should be very different from the iPhone SE. The new model should resemble the iPhone 7 Jet Black, with a glass body that offers a very unique mirror effect. In addition, the lines should be more rounded.
Price and release date
According to some rumors from France, the iPhone SE 2 should be launched in August. It is much more likely that the Cupertino-based company will present it at the same time as the iPhone 8 in late September. As for the price of the iPhone SE 2, the 32GB version is expected to cost around 400 euros, while the 128GB model will have to shell out 100 euros more.
