Galaxy S8 Active: how will be the indestructible top of the range of Samsung

The Galaxy S8 Active will be a rugged smartphone, resistant to falls, water and dust. The features will be identical to the Galaxy S8

Waiting for the Galaxy Note 8 to be released on August 23, Samsung is ready to launch a new top of the range on the market, with very special features. In fact, the South Korean company has made a "reinforced" version of the Galaxy S8, which resists falls, dust and is waterproof.

The name of the new smartphone is Galaxy S8 Active, and with the top of the range launched in March it shares not only the name but also the technical features: the same screen, processor, Ram and internal storage space. The difference lies in the design (with a metal frame and polycarbonate that makes it more resistant) and the 4,000 mAh battery that increases the autonomy at least another 12 hours. The Galaxy S8 Active is to all intents and purposes a rugged smartphone, meaning that it is resistant to any impact and can be used for special jobs that require appropriate equipment.

Features Galaxy S8 Active

The first rumors about the Galaxy S8 Active came out a few days after the official presentation of the S8, but for the first official images we had to wait until the end of July. The appearance is very similar to the Galaxy S8 with the only difference represented by the frame that wraps around the entire smartphone and protects the body and display from drops. As for the rest, the technical characteristics of the Galaxy S8 Active are identical to those of the smartphone launched in March: it mounts an Exynos 8895 SoC, supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The camera compartment is also the same. The screen will be 5.8 inches with QuadHD resolution.

The Galaxy S8 Active is drop-, dust- and water-resistant (IP 68 protection) and will receive the MIL STD-810G military-standard resistance rating.

Galaxy S8 Active price and release date

The Galaxy S8 Active will most likely be released by the first week of August, but the price is not yet available. The only thing that is certain is that due to its unique features, it will be higher than the "regular" Galaxy S8.
