The sequel to the popular teen drama is coming to Italy: new cast and new plot centered on the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. Here's when and where to see it.
Gossip Girl, one of the most followed teen dramas of the last twenty years, is coming back. The sequel will be set in the same fictional universe as the original series: the most prestigious private school on the Upper East Side. The protagonists, once again, will be at the center of scandals and love dramas.
The novelties will not be lacking, starting with the cast that reflects contemporary society: the new generation of students is multicultural and fluid, but above all ready to walk among classrooms, gardens and hallways of the school and live their adolescence in an intense way. The series has already received positive reviews in the United States, where it became the best debut of the year on HBO Max, so much so that it was renewed for a second season. Now it finally arrives in Italy: you can watch it on Sky Serie, the channel dedicated to episodic shows. But it will also be available in streaming on NOW. Everything is ready to welcome her.
The new series Gossip Girl: plot and cast
The sequel to Gossip Girl will be set in the most exclusive school in the city, the Constance Billard St. Jude's School and will see as protagonists the scions of the rich families of Manhattan, who live a lavish life, between love dramas, warm-ups, rivalries of all kinds.
The main characters are Zoya and her half-sister and influencer Julien Calloway. Finally, they get to spend some time without fear of family judgment. At least until the arrival of the mysterious "Gossip Girl".
This time it is not Dan Humphrey or someone similar, but a group of professors tired of the students, rich and spoiled. The time has come to make them pay the bill with searing revelations and malicious gossip on social media. Many kids will suffer the repercussions and the first to be ruined will be the relationship between Julien and Zoya, who go from close sisters to rivals.
In the cast there are many young faces: Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith, but also Todd Almond, Adam Chanler-Berat, Johnathan Fernandez and Jason Gotay.
When Gossip Girl arrives
Everything is ready: the sequel to Gossip Girl arrives in Italy on Wednesday, October 27 on Sky Serie and streaming on NOW.
In the meantime, all six seasons of "Gossip Girl (2007)" - which aired from 2007 to 2012 - are already available on demand on Sky and streaming on NOW, allowing audiences to catch up or catch up on lost episodes.
The show is created by Joshua Safran, the same writer and executive producer of the parent series.
It is also based on the novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the original show developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The new stories are told in an ultra-contemporary key. Compared to the parent series, they will also deal with more adult themes: in fact, in the 2000s they couldn't be included because the show was broadcast on a channel explicitly for young people.
