Huawei MateBook E 2022 is the new high-end 2-in-1 from the Chinese company: great features, great flexibility
Huawei has made official the MateBook E 2022, the new 2-in-1 laptop with Windows 11 with which the Chinese company clearly shows its intention to put a spoke in the wheels of Microsoft's recent Surface Pro 8, on the strength of a highly flexible product as a convertible and the recent Windows 11 OS.
Huawei MateBook E 2022 has some interesting technical features, but its strong point is undoubtedly the display: there aren't many laptops on the market that can boast an OLED type screen, so Huawei's newborn has an important competitive advantage over the competition. The new 2-in-1 from Huawei does not reach the kilo in weight (907 grams) and supports the second generation Huawei M-Pencil pen, in addition to the removable keyboard from Huawei. In short, power and flexibility are the two terms that best summarize the new proposal of Huawei, with the hope that MateBook E 2022 will soon be offered in Europe.
Huawei MateBook E 2022, what it looks like
Huawei MateBook E 2022 has a 12.6-inch screen and 400 nits of maximum brightness, with OLED technology, 600 x 1,600 pixel resolution, 16:10 form factor and occupies 90% of the surface. Two options made available by Huawei regarding the chip: you can choose between Intel Core i5-1130G7 and Core i7-1160G7 both belonging to the eleventh generation, so the latest products from Intel, and both with integrated graphics card Intel Xe.
In terms of memories Huawei MateBook E 2022 offers up to 16 GB of RAM LPDDR4x and up to 512 GB of storage space through a PCIe NVMe SSD. There's nothing missing when it comes to connectivity: there's both Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6, along with a Thunderbolt 4 input and one for the 3.5mm audio jack. Huawei MateBook E 2022 has two cameras, an 8 MP camera for video calls and a 13 MP camera on the back. There are four speakers for stereo listening to media, and a 42 Wh battery with support for 65-watt fast charging, which guarantees to recover 54% of the charge in half an hour and get a full charge in an hour and a half.
Huawei MateBook E 2022, how much does it cost
The attack price for China of the Huawei MateBook E 2022 is 5,999 yuan for the Intel Core i5 variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, or the equivalent of 830 euros. If for the same chip you prefer a larger amount of storage, 12+512 GB, the equivalent of 970 euros should be put into account, while for the Intel Core i7 variant with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD you need 7,999 yuan, more than 1,100 euros.
It is not yet clear whether Huawei MateBook E 2022 will be marketed outside China, but if it does it is easy to imagine higher prices due to higher taxation and higher logistics costs. So it's no use deluding yourself that if it does arrive it will be offered at Chinese prices converted to euros.
