Pixel 4, official features: top camera and gaming screen

The US portal 9to5Google reveals a preview of the features of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Classics on the design front, revolutionary in terms of specifications

Their presentation is still some time away, but the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are now known practically everything. Some of the information has been released directly from Google, such as the presence of a kind of radar in the front notch to improve frontal unlocking and add new "aerial" gestures (coming with Android 10 Q); others have instead been revealed by the portal 9to5Google from unspecified internal sources.

And if on the design profile Google smartphones seem to be left behind by a few years (the front notch is quite pronounced, as well as the bezels are quite large), on that of technical features and functionality the next Pixel are extremely advanced devices. Just scroll through the data sheet of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL unveiled by the U.S. portal to realize that, throughout the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, Google phones will be the best Android on the market.

Technical Sheet Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL

As already happened for the smartphones of the past generation, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are in fact identical, if not for some details. We have already mentioned that from a design point of view the two googlefonini will be a bit retro: they will have large frontal notch (here will reside the "radar"), pronounced bezels and a rear bump (the area where they are "housed" sensors and rear lenses) of square shape and with a step of several millimeters. In short, it will be impossible not to notice it.

From the point of view of internal components, however, Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will have few rivals for a long time. Both will mount the Snapdragon 855 probably in the Plus version launched in recent weeks; they will have 6 gigabytes of RAM and will come with two different memory sizes, 64 and 128 gigabytes. They will then have the Titan M security chip, which guarantees immediate encryption of data saved in memory. To power them a battery of 2,800 mAh (the Pixel 4) and 3,700 mAh (the Pixel 4 XL).

The most interesting news, however, concern the display and the rear camera compartment. Let's start with the screen: both will mount OLED panels with variable sizes: 5.7 inches (FullHD+ resolution) for the Pixel 4 and 6.3 inches  (QuadHD+ resolution) for the Pixel 4 XL. The two google phones, moreover, will be able to count on a refresh rate of 90 Hertz, thus making them suitable for mobile gaming. Thanks to this trick, in fact, the images will scroll more smoothly and naturally.

In the back there will be two photo sensors: the main 12-megapixel and phase recognition autofocus and a secondary 16-megapixel with optical zoom. More interesting, however, a detail that has yet to be confirmed: Pixel 4 and Pizel 4 XL should be equipped with an accessory that will allow you to use interchangeable lenses, exactly as it happens in an SLR camera.
