Prime Video: Amazon announces new Italian productions

Amazon has announced the new Original Italian productions on Prime Video for 2021: here's what they are and when they arrive

Amazon is accelerating its investments on Italian productions and presented the new TV series and movies coming during Prime Video Presents Italia 2021. An event in which the titles planned for the new year were unveiled and especially the protagonists of the films and Amazon Original TV series that we will see on Prime Video by 2023.

The content offer of Prime Video, Amazon's streaming service reserved for Prime customers, is getting richer and richer. It ranges from The Bad Guy and Prisma to Bang Bang Baby starring Arianna Becheroni and Adriano Giannini, to the Everybody Loves Diamonds series starring Kim Rossi Stuart. The first Italian Amazon Original film is Anni da cane, starring Aurora Giovinazzo, Isabella Mottinelli and Federico Cesari. An exceptional cast instead for Dinner Club, with Diego Abatantuono, Fabio De Luigi, Pierfrancesco Favino, Valerio Mastandrea who join Sabrina Ferilli, Luciana Littizzetto and chef Carlo Cracco. There will also be an overall deal with singer and performer Achille Lauro. Here are all the new Italian productions coming in 2021 on Prime Video.

Prime Video: upcoming Italian Amazon Original movies

The first entirely Italian movie in the works with Amazon Original is Anni da cane, a comedy directed by Fabio Mollo that tells the story of Stella (Aurora Giovinazzo), an awkward, cynical and tormented teenager but full of imagination who decides to change her life after a car accident. In the cast there are Isabella Mottinelli, Federico Cesari, Luca Vannuccini and Sabrina Impacciatore. Surprisingly, there will also be a cameo by singer and performer Achille Lauro.

Prime Video: upcoming Italian Amazon Original series

Bang Bang Baby was announced in 2020 and will arrive in 2022: it is a crime series set in Milan in the late 1980s that tells the story of the shy and insecure teenager Alice (Arianna Becheroni) who becomes the youngest member of a mafia organization to win the love of her father.

Then there is Everybody Loves Diamonds, where Kim Rossi Stuart plays Leonardo Notarbartolo, the protagonist of the crazy robbery carried out in 2003 with a team to enter the Antwerp Diamond Centre in Antwerp and steal dozens of diamonds. Scheduled to arrive on Prime Video in 2023.

Another mafia story for The Bad Guy series, written by Giuseppe G. Stasi and Giancarlo Fontana. Prosecutor Nino Scotellaro, who has always fought the Mafia, is accused of being a Mafioso himself. After his conviction, he will start his revenge plan and will turn into the "bad guy" he has been unjustly accused of being. To see it we will have to wait until 2022.

In the Italian offer of Prime Video will not miss even a teen drama: Prisma. In 2022, subscribers will be able to follow the parallel lives of twins Marco and Andrea, to deal with the theme of uniqueness. Here too there will be the presence of Achille Lauro, who will appear as a guest star and write an unreleased song for the TV series.

Prime Video: what else is new in Italian productions

For the cooking traveloque Dinner Club, other celebrities will travel around Italy with chef Carlo Cracco after Sabrina Ferilli and Luciana Littizzetto. In the cast arrive the actors Diego Abatantuono, Fabio De Luigi, Pierfrancesco Favino, Valerio Mastandrea.

At the new exclusive content there are then Monterossi, an investigative thriller in six episodes based on the detective novels of Alessandro Robecchi. Wearing the role of the protagonist Carlo Monterossi is Fabrizio Bentivoglio.

In addition, the documentary about the young Italian artist Benji will also arrive on Prime Video. The docufilm Ben: respira will talk about his life between Italy, Los Angeles and New York, starting from the experience of the disease until the success.
