On one of the most heartfelt areas by enthusiasts, photography, Galaxy S22 Ultra may also have little new to tell compared to the current model
No change in terms of cameras in the handover between the current Galaxy S21 Ultra and the highly anticipated Galaxy S22 Ultra next year. This is the latest indication given by the rumors, according to which precisely those who expect big news for the photos of the top of the range 2022 Samsung would do well to scale back their expectations.
Difficult to say what fate will fall to the other two components of the line up, that is Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 +, but the impression is that if indeed the cameras of the Ultra variant, the most prestigious of all, remained identical, it would be curious to say the least if instead improve on the "little brothers". So, in this scenario, it is more likely that if Galaxy S22 Ultra had no news, then the remaining two, Galaxy S22 and S22+, would have the same cameras. However, different leakers and experts tell a different story. Samsung has certainly done a good job with this year's top of the line cameras, which have shown off that they can take great photos in all conditions. But from Seoul, enthusiasts always expect the best, it's the idea that on an important aspect like photography might not change anything is not exciting.
The three cameras on Galaxy S22 Ultra
If the rumors told the truth then, again on Galaxy S22 Ultra there will be the 108-megapixel main sensor, the 10-megapixel telephoto periscope lens with 10x optical zoom, the "simple" telephoto lens still 10 megapixels but with 3x optical zoom and the 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with "super" optical stabilization, plus of course the 40-megapixel selfie camera.
There are several rumors that have recently reported the possibility that Galaxy S22 Ultra may borrow cameras from Galaxy S21 Ultra, so unfortunately the chances are high that this all reflects what Samsung has in store for its absolute top of the line.
The cameras of Galaxy S22 and S22+
It is suggested that Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ instead may arrive with some upgrade in terms of photographic capabilities. Nothing earth-shattering, but it seems that some slight improvements are in the works. For example, it is said that the main camera will have 50 megapixels, instead of the current 12 megapixels, and that the ultra wide-angle and telephoto lenses will be 12 megapixels each.
This is the picture suggested by rumors about the photographic capabilities of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with the Galaxy S22 and S22+ in the background: very few refinements on a basic system that seems to remain the same. Samsung has always gone all out on the subject of photography, so it could well be that for the 2022 top of the line, the improvements are more on the software side than the hardware side. We'll see.
Plastic for two Galaxy S22 out of three
Also on the remaining compartments the expected news at the moment are not many. They will arrive three models differentiated mainly by the size of the display: 6.06, 6.55 and 6.81 inches respectively for Galaxy S22, Plus and Ultra. It is rumored that the first two may arrive with a plastic back surface to reduce costs.
The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected, as usual, in the first quarter of 2022.
