For March 27, Apple has organized an event dedicated to the world of school in Chicago: starring a cheap iPad and applications for school
A few days after the event that Apple has organized for March 27 at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago begin to arrive some rumors about what will be presented by the Cupertino company. In the invitations sent to the press, Apple wanted to emphasize that the event will be dedicated to the world of education (and in fact is organized inside a high school), but did not specify what will be shown on stage.
In a report published on the online site of Bloomberg vine anticipated what will be presented at the Apple event on March 27, reporting internal sources in the company. The protagonist of the event will be the iPad: the Cupertino company has developed an affordable version of the tablet dedicated exclusively to students and the world of school. In the U.S. it is very common among children to study with the help of a PC or a tablet. It's no coincidence that Chromebooks, computers that run Chrome OS, an operating system based on Android, are very popular among students. And it is precisely to this slice of the market that Apple is aiming: the low-cost iPad must counter the dominance of Google among young American students. But that's not all. A low-cost iPad could make the fortunes of many Italian and European students.
How the low-cost iPad will be
The only fairly certain feature of the low-cost iPad is the size of the screen: it will be 9.7 inches. As for everything else there is total uncertainty. Being a low-cost model, the processor inside will not be the A11. Most likely it will be the A10 or even the previous model, the A9. As for the available memory, it will hardly be more than 64GB. Even the photo compartment will not be exceptional, but it will allow you to take pictures of decent quality. What will certainly not lack will be applications dedicated to the world of school. There are rumors of a ClassKit that Apple has developed for the occasion with at least a couple of ad hoc applications for education. There are also rumors about the price: the cheap iPad should cost 259 dollars, a hundred less than the cheapest version on the market today.
New Apple Pencil
To accompany the low-cost iPad on stage will be a new model of Apple Pencil designed specifically for students. Again, this is an inexpensive model with some technical limitations. The Apple Pencil will allow you to interact with the iPad as if you were writing in your notebook or using your computer.
What won't be unveiled at Apple's March 27 event
Apple is also working on a low-cost MacBook to go alongside the budget version of the iPad. But the computer will not be presented on March 27, as the device is still in the testing phase. Most likely it will be presented during WWDC 2018 in June, the event dedicated to developers that Apple organizes every year.
