On the occasion of the end of filming, Amazon Studios releases not only the first official image, but announces the online launch of the new series starting from September 22, 2022.
The title of the series dedicated to the Lord of the Rings is not yet known, but next year, Prime Video will distribute it in more than 240 countries worldwide. Four years after purchasing the rights, we have a start date for the series, still no details are known, but the released image already tells us how extraordinary it will be.
The photo released by Amazon Studios is from episode one of the Lord of the Rings television adaptation. A character, as yet unidentified approaches a grandiose citadel just in the distance. Basta poco per riportarci alle maestose ambientazioni a cui siamo abituati nelle pellicole tratte dal genio di Tolkien, dove l’estetica è una parte importante del tutto, la parte del film più capace di farci sognare. Furono 250 milioni di dollari pagati qualche anno fa per i diritti alla serie, poi solo il silenzio, fino a poche ore fa poco dopo la conclusione delle riprese in Nuova Zelanda.
Le dichiarazioni di Amazon
Jennifer Salk, la responsabile degli Amazon Studios, non sta più nella pelle dall’entusiasmo: l’emozione è davvero tanta nel presentare al pubblico di tutto il mondo il nuovo epico viaggio nella Terra di Mezzo. La Salk ha ribadito come tutti, dai produttori, al cast fino a tutto il team di produzione abbiamo dato vita a un lavoro incessante per dare la luce a questo ambizioso progetto: finalmente un nuovo e inedito racconto è stato realizzato nella Terra di Mezzo.
Le dichiarazioni si susseguono malgrado le polemiche, prontamente smentite da Amazon Studios, fatte dagli stuntman che criticavano fermamente le misure di sicurezza adottate per la realizzazione di talune scene.
Cosa sappiamo della trama
J.D. Payne e Patrick McKay sviluppatori della serie portano sugli schermi la Seconda Era della storia della Terra di Mezzo, migliaia di anni prima delle eventi narrati in Lo Hobbit e il Signore degli anelli. In un tempo di quiete un gruppo di personaggi, alcuni già conosciuti al pubblico, altri nuovi, si troveranno a fronteggiare il temuto ritorno del male.
Payne e McKay non vedono l’ora di far rivivere le emozioni e gli ambienti e come direbbe Bilbo sono pronti a iniziare questa nuova avventura facendo respirare nuovamente la magia della Terra di mezzo. Manca un anno alla messa in onda su Prime Video, ma sapremo aspettare quel momento.
