The last episodes of the fifth season of Lucifer will most likely be released between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021
Netflix has hit the jackpot once again: the decision to save Lucifer and buy the rights for the production has proven to be correct. The first eight episodes of the fifth season are available on the platform since August 21, while for the second part we will have to wait a little longer. To say it are the same producers, who announced delays in the release because of the Coronavirus. The filming, in fact, have been suspended for the Covid-19 and although they are well underway, you have to wait for the whole set to be put back on its feet.
On the other hand, the same Tom Ellis, lead actor who plays both Lucifer Morningstar and Michael, had announced in the previous days that there was still a little 'before concluding the filming of the second part of the fifth season. A season that, according to the scriptwriters' plans, was supposed to be the last, but instead will have to act as an opener to the sixth and final season. For a TV series that was supposed to end with the third season, this is an excellent result.
Lucifer 5 part two: previews
The script of the second part of the fifth season is largely already written: it may undergo changes only to make filming easier because of the Coronavirus. And the themes that will be discussed are already clear from the first eight episodes of part one: the relationship between God and his two sons, Lucifer and Michael. The arrival of the parent with whom the two sons have always had a complicated relationship will make the second part of season 5 very interesting.
When does the second part of Lucifer 5 come out
Netflix has not yet set a precise date for the release of the second part of Lucifer 5 and the reason is quite simple: the filming is not yet finished. The producers of the TV series say that: the Coronavirus stopped everything when it was very close to completion. It should start shooting again in the fall and after that it will be necessary to wait for the post-production work. The most likely scenario is between the end of 2020 and early 2021.
