Nubia presents its first gaming smartphone: interesting design and top-of-the-line technical card. Available in China and USA from April 26
Smartphone manufacturers seem to have taken a liking to it, always looking for new market niches to conquer. After Razer and Xiaomi, also Nubia presents its gaming smartphone. Nubia is a Chinese company that has appeared on the Italian market: the devices are characterized by an excellent value for money and very interesting technical specifications.
Although there are not many smartphones for gamers, the models released so far are characterized by the presence of top of the range hardware components, for a particular design and a cooling system that allows you to keep low temperatures even when the smartphone is under stress. The Nubia Red Gaming, this is the name of the smartphone, has all these features: it mounts a Snapdragon 835 chipset with 8GB of RAM, the rear shell has a very special design and the cooling system dissipates heat through the pores on the outside of the device. In addition, the Nubia Red Gaming is also very competitively priced: the base version can be purchased for just over 300 euros.
Features Nubia Red Gaming
Aboard the Nubia Red Gaming we find the Snapdragon 835 supported by 4/8GB of RAM and 64/128GB of full memory. There are two different versions available that differ in the amount of RAM and internal storage. Reading the data sheet we immediately notice a rather peculiar choice: the smartphone does not mount the Snapdragon 845, the latest processor made by Qualcomm, but the Snapdragon 835, chipset released last year. The Chinese company has justified itself by saying that the Snapdragon 835 offers better performance without overheating issues for the device. For the same reason, the Nubia Red Gaming features a 6-inch screen with FullHD+ resolution: a panel with a higher resolution would have slowed down the device during gaming phases. The smartphone also features a GameBoost mode that allows you to push the device to performances never reached by other phones in the same category.
Nubia has also thought about the photo compartment by mounting a 24 Megapixel rear camera with a 1.7 focal aperture and an 8 Megapixel front sensor. The audio compartment, on the other hand, has been equipped with DTS and Smart Amplifier technologies. The smartphone also features an air convection cooling system that draws out heat via pores on the body. It features the Android Oreo 8.1 version.
Price Nubia Red Gaming
For now, the smartphone will only be available in the Chinese market and the US market, where it will be sold on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.
