Sony has announced DualSense, the new PS5 controller that brings with it many new features and a new design. How it's made
Sony is retiring the controller Dualshock and, with the arrival of the PS5 expected this fall, introduces the new joypad called DualSense. Slowly Sony is unveiling all the news that will bring the launch of the new console: after announcing most of the features in previous weeks, now it has finally removed the veil on the new controller
The physiognomy of the controller remains more or less the same, with the L1, R1, L2 and R2 buttons on the back and the buttons slightly smaller. The controller will have tactile feeback and will be able to "feel" users' emotions, though how this feature works is not yet well known. The DualSense will also have a built-in microphone to make life easier for gamers.
Sony's new DualSense
The DualSense, no longer completely black but with a two-tone black and white design, is slightly larger and the rear light bar that characterized the DualShock 4 has been moved to the front of the controller. The DualSense has a built-in microphone that allows you to chat with friends without using a headset. Eliminated the button dedicated to sharing "Share" replaced with a button "Create" and that should support a true evolution of the SharePlay function already used in the PS4. Finally, in the rear there is a USB port type C dedicated to charging that should ensure an autonomy in line, if not higher, with that of the DualShock 4.
Sony has not yet explained in detail the operation of the new DualSense, something that will happen shortly in the coming months. So much so that the features of the adaptive triggers, which should feature haptic feedback, have not yet been revealed. In addition, the triggers should be arranged differently with a new angle, as well as being slightly smaller to make room for the haptic feedback components. A very important element that, along with Sony's new proprietary audio system, Tempest 3D audio Tech, will be able to offer a new and immersive gaming experience.
The DualSense Controller Features
Unfortunately Sony has not revealed in detail all the functions of the new DualSense controller of the PS5. At the moment we do not know the duration of the rechargeable battery, the weight and size of the controller, as well as the selling price and whether other colors will be available in addition to black and white. The Japanese giant has only revealed that all the details and technical characteristics will be pitted in due course, so we just have to wait for the official statements of Sony.
