The Government clarifies almost everything about Cashback, Christmas Extra Cashback, Super Cashback and the Scontrini Lottery
The Italia Cashless Plan, which includes Christmas Cashback, Cashback 2021, Super Cashback and the Scontrini Lottery, now has a dedicated website where citizens can find all the necessary information: it is cashlessitalia.it, was registered on October 26 by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and is now online.
With the slogan "Earn, win and change the country", the new government website serves above all to clarify after the many rumors circulated in recent days. With the publication in the Official Gazette of the decree on Cashback, in fact, now everything is defined and it is possible to give users clear and definitive information. Nello stesso sito, inoltre, si trovano anche informazioni sullo SPID e sulla CIE e i link al Play Store e all’App Store per scaricare le App IO (qui la nostra guida completa passo passo) per Android e iOS. La grafica è più “promozionale" che informativa, va detto, e le prestazioni del sito non sono eccezionali, ma le informazioni sono complete.
Cashback, Extra Cashback e Super Cashback: cosa devi sapere
Il Cashback ordinario è previsto, a partire da gennaio 2021, per tutti gli acquisti (per qualunque bene e servizio) effettuati in un lugo fisico (non vale per gli acquisti online) fatto con carte e app di pagamento. Il sito Italia Cashless menziona esplicitamente quali sono gli acquisti che non valgono ai fini del cashback:
- acquisti online
- acquisti necessari allo svolgimento di attività imprenditoriali, professionali o artigianali
- acquisti effettuati agli sportelli ATM (es. ricariche telefoniche)
- bonifici SDD (SEPA) per gli addebiti diretti su conto corrente
- pagamenti ricorrenti, con addebito su carta o su conto corrente
Per tutti gli acquisti validi, che dovranno essere almeno 50 a semestre, avremo diritto ad un cashback pari al 10% della somma spesa ma non oltre i 150 euro. Ogni rimborso, quindi, non potrà superare i 15 euro neanche se l’importo pagato è superiore a 150 euro. Il rimborso è semestrale e non può superare i 150 euro in totale a semestre (quindi non più di 300 euro ogni anno).
Per partecipare all’iniziativa bisogna essere maggiorenni e risiedere in Italia. For families, however, the refunds are summed because they are calculated on an individual basis: a single person can get 150 euros, a couple 300 euros, mother, father and child of age 450 euros and so on.
What the Italy Cashless website does not clarify, however, is whether the same card can be registered for cashback by several people or if everyone will have to pay with a different card.
The Extra Christmas Cashback has the same rules as the ordinary one, but it applies to purchases made in December 2020. There's also a start date: from December 8 onwards, expenses made with a card or app will count toward the cashback. The reimbursement will be credited by bank transfer "in the first months of 2021", to the account registered with the IO app.
The Super Cashback, unlike the ordinary one and the Christmas Extra Cashback, is not automatic and is not for everyone. E’ una sorta di concorso con un premio da 1.500 euro a semestre (quindi un massimo di 3.000 euro l’anno) riservato ai primi 100.000 cittadini che hanno fatto, in un solo semestre, il maggior numero di acquisti validi ai fini del cashback.
L’importo dell’acquisto non ha valore: “un caffè vale come un televisore“. L’importante sarà rispettare i semestri:
- 1° Semestre – dal 1° gennaio – 30 giugno 2021
- 2° Semestre – dal 1° luglio – 31 dicembre 2021
- 3° Semestre – dal 1° gennaio – 30 giugno 2022
Il Super Cashback verrà erogato sullo stesso IBAN indicato dal cittadino tramite l’app IO.
Quali carte e app sono valide ai fini del Cashback
Nella fase iniziale, specialmente ai fini dell’ottenimento del Cashback di Natale, bisognerà stare attenti a come si paga perché non tutti i sistemi saranno disponibili sin da subito: per il Cashback di Natale valgono solo gli acquisti fatti con carte di credito, carte di debito, PagoBancomat e Satispay.

Lottery of the receipts
Finally, in the Italia Cashless website there is also a small section dedicated to the Lottery of the Receipts. As you know, to participate in the lottery you don't need to pay by card or app: cash is fine too.
