The Huawei P40 could be made in three different models that differ in screen size and technical features. Here's what they'll look like
The Huawei P40 could come out in three different versions: this is what leaks in the last hours from China, with the news that was published by some well-known journalists in the mobile industry. As already done by other manufacturers, Huawei would be ready to launch three versions of its top of the range to try to occupy all the available market segments.
In addition to the base model, there should be two premium versions: one will surely be the Huawei P40 Pro, of which we already know characteristics and composition of the photographic compartment, while the third model should be very similar to the Porsche Edition already seen for the Mate 30 and other smartphones of the Chinese company. The two premium devices would go to challenge the Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra, the two top of the range smartphones that Samsung should present by the end of February. A fight between Samsung and Huawei, which now continues for some time: up for grabs the throne of the largest global manufacturer of smartphones. And the challenge between Huawei P40 and Galaxy S20 is just a new chapter in the story. We'll see who will win it.
How the three Huawei P40s will look
The design of the three devices should be very similar, with a display with a hole in the front and a rectangular bumper in the back with the cameras inside. The base of the Huawei P40 is the Kirin 990 chipset with 5G modem, what will vary will be the RAM and memory present on each model.
Two other factors that will differentiate the three devices will be the size of the screen and the number of cameras. The "regular" Huawei P40 is expected to have a slightly smaller screen (6.1-6.3 inches) with a FullHD+ resolution. The P40 Pro and the third model (whose name we don't know) should have a QuadHD+ display with a diagonal of more than 6.5-6.7 inches. The refresh rate is expected to be 90Hz on all three devices.
There is a lot of uncertainty about the camera compartment. Let's go step by step. Surely the sensors on the base model will be five: four in the back and one in the front. On the two premium models they could increase to seven: five rear and two front cameras. The five rear cameras should include a 64-megapixel main sensor, a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens, a depth-of-field sensor and one for macro photos.
The battery of the three devices should definitely exceed 4000mAh with support for fast charging. From the latest rumors, the smartphone could mount a graphene battery, but there is no certainty. Difficult the presence of Google Mobile Services, while it is very likely that the P40 will be the first smartphone that will witness the potential of Mobile Services developed by Huawei. On board Android 10 with EMUI 10.
When the Huawei P40 comes out
The three devices will be presented at a press conference that the Chinese company is organizing in Paris for mid-March. An exact date is not yet in place.
