A new Bluetooth speaker is the ideal companion for lovers of nature and the outdoors: it's Bose SoundLink Flex
Bose, a historic name in high-fidelity audio, has for several years now been focusing strongly on another market segment: Bluetooth speakers designed especially for younger people and, in general, for those who want to bring their favorite music "outdoors". An example of this new course is the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom speaker, but now there is a new model to look at: Bose SoundLink Flex.
The Bose SoundLink Flex is expressly designed for those who spend a lot of time outdoors, in nature, and need a very robust device to play music via Bluetooth. Many of its features are reminiscent of the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom (like the fact that it can float and is IP67 certified), but the SoundLink Flex's design is more understated and compact, the sound is better, and yet the price is higher. Much of the price increase is due to new, more durable materials and new technology that allows the user more freedom while using it.
Bose SoundLink Flex: what it looks like
Bose SoundLink Flex is a device that's 9.1x20x5.3 centimeters in size and weighs just under 600 grams. It's covered in soft-touch silicone and has a powder-coated steel grill. Thanks to the built-in microphone, it can also be used to make phone calls, while on battery power it can stay on for up to 12 consecutive hours.
Like almost all Bluetooth speakers, it's mono, but you can pair it with other Bose devices to make them work in stereo, or in party mode: all devices play the same channel, to increase the sound impact.
The Bluetooth 4.2 promises a distance of up to 10 meters between the Bose SoundLink Flex and the phone or other device to which it is paired.
Bose SoundLink Flex, in addition, can adjust the direction of the sound waves it produces thanks to technology PositionIQ, so it feels good even if it is placed on a table or against the wall.
Bose SoundLink Flex: price and availability
Bose SoundLink Flex was presented for the American market, at a price of 149 dollars. At the moment, a European and Italian launch has not been made official, but it is very likely: almost all Bose products, in fact, are already available in Italy.
