Two of the most anticipated devices, Apple's smartphones - the iPhone 13 - and Google's smartphones - the Pixel 6 - will be official any day now: the latest on dates
The year 2020, to put it mildly, has been a peculiar year and many habits have been disrupted in a very short time. Habits of life, of anyone, and of companies, even the largest as Apple that due to the Covid-19 pandemic had to postpone the launch of its iPhone, an event more unique than rare. This year, however, the new iPhones should arrive on time.
Although we are waiting for an official communication on the date on which the iPhone 13 will come to light, for days the rumors all agree on the fact that Apple, this year, will return to the classic routine, so the new smartphones will be presented around mid-September. To tell the truth are now several sources to agree on Saturday, September 14, and if so we expect Apple to announce in days the date to be circled in red on the calendar. It could even do it before Google, which is due to announce the new generation of top-of-the-line smartphones, those Pixel 6 that could steal the scene to Apple's rivals.
Pixel 6 a day before iPhone 13
According to the latest rumors, Google could commit what could be perceived as a real affront from Cupertino's side, that is stealing the spotlight by announcing just a day before the top of the range smartphones that, although not as famous as Apple's ones, would still make a lot of noise because of the new Google Tensor proprietary chip.
Google is also expected to make an official announcement for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro presentation date, but according to the latest information that date should be Friday, September 13. Although Big G, in a surprise move but that is slowly becoming routine, has announced a good part of the specifications of its top of the range devices before the actual launch event, there is still a lot to discover about the Pixel 6.
Google Pixel 6, what to expect
Google Pixel 6 will arrive with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with 90 Hz refresh rate, Pixel 6 Pro will do a little better with a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with 120 Hz refresh rate. The first should have two cameras on the back, one wide-angle and one ultra wide-angle, the second to these would add a telephoto lens for 4x optical zoom. The chip, as is now known, is the Google Tensor made in house with the collaboration of Samsung.
Despite rumors on September 13, there is still no official date for the presentation of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, but we know, by the voice of Google, that they will come to market in the fall.
iPhone 13, what to expect
The next day, full weekend, should debut the long-awaited iPhone 13, along with Apple Watch Series 7 and, probably, the new generation of wireless headphones AirPods. There will be four components as with the current range: iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Among the new features to debut with the new generation will be a smaller notch, which will leave more room for the display, and a 120 Hz refresh rate screen for the two Pro variants. It seems that Apple is intent on doubling the maximum storage space, from 512 GB to 1 TB. Larger batteries and camera innovations are also expected, and who knows, prices might not go up from the current generation due to the chip crisis.
