Since 7:00 p.m. on April 26, the PlayStation Network has issues and is not allowing users to log in to their profile. What's happening
The PlayStation Network (PSN) is down. Or at least it has major problems that does not allow users to access their personal profile. The first reports came at 7 p.m. on April 26, when users began experiencing slowdowns in accessing and navigating the PlayStation Network. Problems that have spilled over into online gaming: many are unable to play Fortnite and other multiplayer games on the PSN.
It seems, however, that it does not depend on the PlayStation Network servers down. Entering the PSN status page you can read this message from Sony: "The PlayStation™Network services are fully functional, but there may be external issues on the Internet that affect your experience. Once these external issues are resolved, you should have no problem connecting to PlayStation™Network." The problem, then, should be related to external factors such as the Internet connection. The PSN down doesn't only affect Italian users, but from the site downdetector.com, there are reports from all over the world.
Why PlayStation Network isn't working today
As we've just mentioned, the PSN isn't working due to causes not dependent on the network infrastructure of the Japanese company, or at least this is what Sony itself says. Despite the fact that more than an hour has passed since the first reports, the reasons for the PSN down are still unclear, although reference is made to "external problems on the Internet network".
An ambiguous phrase that could mean either malfunctions in the user's Internet network or in the infrastructure that allows users to connect to the PlayStation Network servers.
The reports on downdetector.it, a site used by users to report the malfunctioning of web services, is increasing every minute, a sign that the PSN down affects all of Italy.
